Surely

2007 © Kristin Solheim

Surely they will rise
All those who are wounded
Surely they will rise
The crippled and the lame
Surely they will rise
All the broken-hearted
Strengthened by His grace
And called by His name

Together they will live
As brothers and sisters
Each one a living stone
Built together by His hands
Together they will live
According to His purpose
To be a house where He can dwell
In the fellowship of friends

Gladly they’ll say Yes
To the Master’s calling
Go into the world
Train followers of Christ
Go to those who live next door
To the cities and the nations
Demonstrate My love
Teach and baptize

Some may ask
Where are your buildings
Where’s the luxury and fame
Where are your platforms and groomed preachers
What’s in it for you to gain

They will answer
We are living to serve the Lord
Not to please ourselves
We will go to seek and meet the people
Real joy we find in loving Him
Obeying His word and trusting Him
Real joy we find in following His ways

They’ll surely multiply
The army of disciples
Rapidly they’ll spread
To the nations of this world
It’s not a work of man
Nor of human striving
It’s a movement of Gods love
In the fellowship of friends

We will answer
We are living to serve the Lord
Not to please ourselves
We will go to seek and meet the people
Real joy we find in loving Him
Obeying His word and trusting Him
Real joy we find in following His ways

We’ll surely multiply
The army of disciples
Rapidly we’ll spread
To the nations of this world
Still we’ll be as one
Like a bride in her beauty
Prepared to meet the Lord
At the wedding of all time
